Helen took me on her journey ... the highs and lows of staying in a care home with dementia and I felt I was reliving my mum's time through her book about the lovely Rita.
A compassionate yet forthright view of the practical and emotional difficulties of care for people with dementia. The author’s candid account ... is a much-needed, extremely useful insight into the continuing concerns.
I wish this book had been around when I was starting the journey with my mum. It would have prepared me for what was to come and given me the help I needed to work my way through the issues I had to deal with.
What a wonderful book I went through this with my lovely mum so it was so relatable to me some of which I read with tears flowing would recommend to anyone going through this to read.
Part 4 - A Better Way for All of Us is extremely clear and influential, and the tips are all the more likely to be taken up by carers and care homes because Helen's personal experiences precede them.
Amazing book. So real. I work with care homes and could relate to her experience. Beautifully written, can’t recommend enough.
